The Ringing Mistaken for Tinnitus

The high, continuous ringing you hear in silence may not be a defect of the ear. Across the world's deepest traditions — Nada Yoga and Kriya, the Sikh path of Shabd, and the Buddha's own teaching — that inner sound is named the single most direct doorway to the Divine.

Nearly every awakening tradition begins its cosmology the same way: not with light, but with sound . "In the beginning was the Word." The universe, they say, is not fundamentally made of matter but of vibration — and a current of that original vibration still sounds, unbroken, beneath the surface of every moment. To hear it, and to merge the attention into it, is to travel that current back to its source.
